If, as a teacher, you ever doubt the weight of your career...put your own kiddos on that yellow bus. As all those hopes/fears/dreams of a year ahead of them come flooding over you...hopes for both their brains and little hearts...you know it's a big job we have. Happy first day to all those brave Mommies and teachers alike.
Exactly one year ago today I woke up to probably one of the most exciting texts of my life...My sweet little sister was in labor and the baby was almost here! I took a (not) short drive down 71 to Cincinnati and met my new sweet little niece Jillian. That day was so amazing because babies being born are such a testament to all that is good and right and Godly in this world. It was also even more amazing because watching someone you love so much become a Mama...a secret club I was already in on...was about the best ever. I think that day is probably the closest we'll ever get until our own girls become Mamas...and then the magic will reappear.
We tried the Medina Fair for the first time this summer and it was really nice!
Everyone wanted to hold the bunny but was a little bit scared. Nana took one for the team.
Except Addie. She's really brave.
Sam LOVED the rabbits.
Addie also loved this goat. It was her bff.
Buying ride wristbands for four children is a little like going to a gourme dinner, without the dinner. Luckily everyone was in good spirits and we rode for a long time! Our "big" kids even tried some big rides...like the...Scrambler!
The Cleveland Aquarium has a less-than-ideal reputation around town...and, while it is very expensive, I was totally (and pleasantly) surprised by our morning there in July.
Shark tank with interactive diver? check.
We loved the touch tanks!
We went with our friends Eli and Gigi. That's Eli there in the orange shirt.
This tank has cleaner shrimp that crawl all over your hands, so cute!
Thanks for going with us Megan! It's clearly no Shed or Newport Aquarium, but I really loved how they maintained a ton of the Powerhouse architecture....and to put it in perspective, our family would spend almost as much going to a movie and getting popcorn and drinks.
