Raising a Son, part 375

Sam:
"Today, me and Jacob B....
we peed in the same potty,

at the same time.

It was the potty you're supposed to poop in.

I was there first."

Raising a Son, part 374

sam, to mike:
Um, I'd like you to put hair gel in my hair and make it spikey today.

Worms and Bugs

In case you don't have a son...
They do this...
And this...
And get their sister to help with this...

That dollar store bug kit I bought was well worth the 100 cents.
:)

I think it's safe to say...

Summer is here.
Grandma says so.
Her cookouts and ice cream do too.

Balloons!

Look what we saw on our way home from Grandpa Rob's party on Saturday?
Hot air balloons!
The kids were just mildly excited.

Mom Pro Tip #321

If you have twin girls, or twins, or girls...

just buy 3,000 hairties, hairclips, hairbows, etc.
Because I'm pretty sure something eats them or steals them.

Also...if you have more than one child...
just keep buying large packs of children's toothbrushes because those things end up all sorts of questionable places...

And if you have one child...or more...
Let's talk mittens and gloves...just buy 4 packs of the same gloves.

All of the above will save your sanity.
Notsomuch your wallet...
But your sanity is more valuable.
At least mine is.
check.

Tired Teacher & Mama...but with good reason...

I am a tired lady tonight...
I also have no voice...but that's another story...
I think it has to do with this...

This one's for you Lisa! {addie's carnival}

Lisa!  Our first official photos of bulldog mania after Addie's Carnival for a Cure at Addie's school...
I am biased, I know...but I think it's amazing how elementary schools have morphed traditional "fun" nights into philanthropic events.  Our new district does the same...
super impressed...

The cupcakes and balloon animals impress the kids...
the mission impresses the Mama...

Sammy's BD Party!

I know it's been a few weeks and I hardly ever get thank you notes out before the blog post...but because all the "space" effort must be shared...here goes...

Aunt Michelle made space cake pops!
They were amazing.
Thanks Shell!

Daddy and Sam made a model of the solar system...
So nerdy cute!!!

Sam's the hardest kid ever to elicit present reactions.  He's the exact opposite of my niece who's 'over the moon' about every present.  He actually does enjoy the gifts as he opens and plays with them...but he gets in this "what's the next present?" zone...

I think the best reaction was to his cousin Isaiah's homemade card!
which I'm okay with...

Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate!
Happy birthday buddy!

Coyotes...

Apparently the pediatrician's office has had some trouble recently....
Not with an actual coyote, but rather....
with Canadian Geese.
And so, they placed these fake coyotes around the building to ward off said geese.
Sam and I noticed them going in for his well-visit and had to ask...
And apparently that's what they're for.
The Cleveland Clinic building also houses a host of other medical specialties and the nurse mentioned they coyotes are actually scaring a lot of the elderly patients coming in.
Nice.

Mother's Day....

Let's face it...I'm totally blessed to come from a long line of amazing women who have taught me how to be the Mommy I am today...
First there's this lady...
She's the best...

It's so fun to have a Mom and then watch your Mom be a grandma to your babies...it's just so special...
And, let's face it...she kept me sane during this....

And taught me everything she knows about margaritas traveling.

And there's Mike's Mom who's just ever-so-generous about my job as a Mommy and I totally appreciate her votes of confidence...
And my sisters who are about to have new babies for me to snuggle in August...
And our Kelly who's about to be a Mommy of 3 next May!

And our Miss Lori who's just an amazing gift for our family...

And my sweet grandmas...

And my sweet friend Megan who laughs with me about every crazy minute of being a Mama and how, between the two of us, we will indeed see just about everything between all of our kids.

I'm so grateful that God placed me in this long line of great women and surrounded me with great Mamas and friends to share the journey with...
and of course, to my sweet husband who gave me the perfect day.
xox.
