Dear Meredith and other Moms-of-Twins...
It's true...

Eliza Sings 2

Dear Home Depot

Dear Home Depot,
Thank you for the box that comes with the dishwasher we bought.  It has provided our children and niece and nephew with countless hours of fun...
even in its recent ripped form...
Box fun

New Color!

I'm such a dork...when people asked what I was doing over spring break, I answered...
potty training and painting...
I life is GLAMOROUS!

We went from a burgundy to a....
you guessed it...
It's a tomato, school brick red...and I love it...
We have a golden-yellow that compliments the red and current brown that's all over the foyer and main floor which will eventually take over the wall above to the left and try to lighten up our family room a bit...but that will probably be a summer project.
Thanks to Mike for lots of painting energy and Megan for helping me pick the perfect red!

I might have a red room obsession.... family room
Dayton family room
Strongsville living room
Olmsted kitchen!

Mr. Handy...

There were some definite improvements we wanted to make in our kitchen sooner, rather than later..
One of which was cabinet hardware!
I really never fully appreciated cabinet hardware until we didn't have any!

Look at Mr. Handy doing his serious measurement...
see kids...measurement is VERY important!
Much better, right?
We started switching out our appliances too.  The dishwasher and microwave had to be replaced first.  Eventually we'll switch out the stove and fridge...

She said yes...

The BIGGEST hug and congrats to our "littlest" sister who doesn't seem quite so little anymore with that ring on her finger!
Congrats Kelly and Ryan!  We're so excited for your engagement!
Photo: I said yes!
And to see that ring in person.

Read Across America!

Addie had a really great week during Read Across America at school.  Her favorite day was
 "Dress like a Cowgirl" day...

Donut Day!

Sam filled up his "I did it myself" sticker chart yesterday...
so it was a tough job...
but Daddy had to take the little man for his reward of choice:
a sprinkle donut

His first chart reward was a milkshake and his next goal is french fries...

Candy culprits...

I don't want to give you the impression that I don't watch my kids close enough,
but apparently,
when candy is involved....
Olivia decided she'd help herself to some Hershey kisses....

like maybe four.

Sam the destructor

Sam made a molotov cocktail in the tub today.
That kid is ready to blow some shiz up!

This is Emily.
We had a little surprise birthday party at our house for her last month.
She's a BIG hit with Olivia and Eliza...

These are their friends Jeff and Sam.
They're really fun too.

There I am with Emily....
my new niece or nephew!
Congrats Phil and Em!
Baby #3 is on the way in August.
We can't wait.

Addie's Wish...

"Mom, here's how I want the seasons to go...
(but with no snow)"

Pantry labels...

My poor teacher friend Jackie endures all my annoying posts about my children (bless her...) so I decided to share a few recent house posts for her...
She is a I think the twin stories keep her coming back for more...but so does pantry organization.
I recently added some pantry labels to my new baskets complete with chevron picture fills in the word shapes.  I'm a big fan...they seem so much happier than boring white.  I'd also like to note that iced animal cookies are in the said "oatmeal" basket which makes me laugh and keeps it real.  So glad only one-fourth of my children can read at this point...

If you're in word and make a "shape" you can right click or choose "shape fill."  From there you can select a picture or pattern in Word or use downloadable digital paper.  There's all sorts of free digital paper you can download.  Check out pinterest for ideas.  It's a fun new way to snazz up your labels.  And frankly, when you stare at those things forever it's worth the extra 15 minutes of design time.  Give it a go!
Let me know how it works out!
