We took the girls to their two-year-old well visit this week.
height difference: .25 inches (Eliza's taller)
weight difference: 6 oz. difference
head circumference: .1cm difference

Now that's impressive on the identical part, right?

The benefits of an unfinished basement

When my sister and I were little we used to roller skate and tap dance in our unfinished basement and as much as I long for a finished basement...there are some definite perks to an unfinished one...little chilly today, but the other day...

Play doh snakes...

Addie's play doh skills are progressing

Olivia at it again...

apparently she really wanted some applesauce

New Years' Eve

We always spend New Years Eve with Megan and Steve...
and have a sleepover...
and each year there just seem to be more and more kids I tell you...
We have kid appetizers first and then adult appetizers...
mostly the involve cheese and evolve into classier options...
mozzeralla sticks to brie and goat cheese
and eggrolls...because we all speak the same language when it comes to appetizers...
then our children get up far too early and play in boxes.
Luckily Megan provided us with a delicious breakfast to get ourselves ready to face the day...
And Dick Clark...he's always there in spirit.
 He's Steve's favorite.

Snowy Day

We have certainly had our share of snow this year...not many days have been warm enough to enjoy it though...we did find a few days to head out and have some snowy fun:

icicle obsessed

At the end of December we snuck down to the rainforest and arrived right as it was opening and that turned out to be a great idea as the animals were wide awake and active and there was no one there yet!
close encounter with birds...
and orangutans
and all sorts of water creatures...

Our rainforest at the zoo is a real treasure and just this month I met someone who had never even heard of's a total must in CLE.

Sneaky Olivia

During naptime over the holidays I heard this on the baby monitor
"No, no, no Olivia.
Uh oh.
No, Olivia, no!"
So I went upstairs and caught my Liv doing something very I tucked her back in bed for naptime and hoped* it wouldn't happen again.
And then it did.
five seconds later...and so I did whatever any good Mother would do...
catch it on video:

oh boy...I fear toddler beds are in our 'not-so-distant future.'

Puzzle Night at Nana's!

Addie got to sleep over Nana and Papa's last night, go out for dinner and breakfast and do a 300 piece puzzle with Nana.  (her biggest yet!)  What a lucky lady!
Thanks for the fun, Nana!

Look at these neat robots we got Sam for Christmas!
I'm pretty certain Mike liked them just as much as Sam...or more.

Movie Night!

Over our Christmas break we had planned to go see Frozen but our plans got snowed in with one of those crazy snowstorms right after the New Year. So instead we had a movie night at home.

And if you have four kids and force them to all share the same large bowl on the floor, they stay off your couches with their greasy little hands.
Shhh...don't tell them my secrets...

BD party, part 2

Here are some other highlights of the big pony party!
Linn and Jerry are Steve's parents (my brother-in-law) and they come to all our kiddos' parties and we are always so thrilled to see them because they are just so nice!
We love having them in our kiddos' lives...
it's like a bonus set of grandparents!

There was lots of Italian on a very long island, turned buffet!
Yay!  It was super speedy to serve everyone.

Mike made his famous Italian wedding soup!

Aunt Michelle helped with presents because two two-year-olds opening presents simultaneously is not easy I say...

And then she made an ombre cake because she is so talented...what more can a little girl want than a cake in three shades of pink?!?

And plenty of snuggle time after the party winded down with Grandpa Rob...
