Note to Self...One Year Olds don't know the difference....

between their swimsuits and real clothes.
If there is a pool...
we will go in.
Swimsuits are optional.

Remember this.

Addie and Sam attended VBS at Strongsville United Methodist this year and really loved it.
This was Sam's first year and Addie's third.
They do such an amazing job.  Our kiddos come home talking about God all week and learn great songs, make fun projects and after soccer and basketball, I was just thrilled Sam was excited to attend anything!
This year was a kingdom theme.  Here's Sam on the second day.

So grateful for churches like this one and ours that help us share God with our kiddos!

Our little man...and a funny story

I remember friends of mine with sons discussing how HARD it is to photograph them.
And they are right.  Sam is, hands down, my trickiest kiddo to photograph.
Luckily for this day, the stars aligned.

He's really into pirates and Mickey right now.

And because it's been far too long since we've had a funny story, here's one for today.
We were at my parents for the standard summer swim/cookout (love those) and Sam comes walking over to the adults and proudly proclaims...

"Um...Papa's grass was thirsty.
So I gave it pee from my penis as a drink."

Sisterly love...

While we were in Savannah my sweet sister and her husband watched the kids for two days.  You can read all about it here.  They did great!  They even let my Addie pick out her own clothes which I hate mildly detest.  Michelle does that to me on purpose. I just know it.
She knows how to calm my bad control freak self out.
Thank goodness I've got her around.
And I can't wait to buy her children clothes organizers for their closets.
But I digress..
Look what else she dressed my kiddos in...
Ha!  And it is true.  They do get those good lucks from their Auntie and Uncle.

Thanks for the cute shirts!

Fort Daddy

Man, I don't want to brag or anything but I picked out the best husband and Daddy ever at age 16.
Can I pick them or what?
Here's a new favorite pasttime at our house...
Daddy fort time

Did you notice I'm practicing changing my depth of field focus?
Or something.

Right?...Super Dad.
for sure.
It's almost his Happy Birthday too!

Bubble Anticipation

Things are crazy with four kids.
It's true.
But I could sit on the back deck all day and watch Addie blow bubbles for the girls.

If that's not the look of anticipation on Eliza's face...

Love those girls of mine.

Public Service Announcement 637

If you drop your phone on the garage floor after it bounces out of your car,
the screen is probably going to break rendering it unusable forever.
Oh snap.
If you are trying to find me between now and Wednesday
Call Mike.

Addie's "friend" Party

Addie had her first friend party at the Jumpyard.
It's a giant warehouse full of bounce houses.
Seriously...25 years late on that idea for Mike's liking...

She invited all the girls from kindergarten plus the resident ladies-man, Braighden, who gets invited to all the girl parties. That kid is set, I tell you, for life.

Everyone sang really loud!

We, of course, had our cousins and some friends from church too!

Here she is opening her presents on the "inflatable throne."
See that sweet party planner girl in the corner...she did EVERYTHING.  Including writing down all the gifts.  Loved that!

Happy Birthday to our bestest big girl!

Addie turns 6!

Our family birthday party with Addie was so lovely.  Last year we had a bit of a surprise stomach flu so I was secretly holding my breath this year!

Here's our little lady!

Some of her biggest fans...

It was finally warm enough to let the kids get some swimming on!
We made a stellar burrito bar.
Three cheers for that.

I had to put this picture in...because Olivia is being silly, too, but also because
the picture behind her on the tv is Addie and it makes me smile how much they look like her...

Aunt Michelle with her famous cupcakes.  Lalaloopsy rag-doll style with handmade fondant buttons.
Yes sirree, that's quite some auntie love.

6 years...seems like forever's hard to remember out family without our Addie Mae around.
xox lady!
